The Blue Ridge Academy of Music thanks you for supporting your child in the world of music, and for allowing BRAM to guide him/her in making the wonderful personal discoveries that music performance offers.
Payments by the semester are due two weeks in advance of the semester. Payments by the month are due by the 21st of the preceding month. Payment amounts are calculated according to the number of classes/lessons to be taken in the semester or month. Please inform your teacher about any weeks you expect to be absent.

Siblings and other household members receive a 15% discount on both/all students’ lesson fees.
A one-time $65 registration fee covers the student’s set-up in our system; learning materials & incidentals; support services and space for recitals; attendance at music stores for consultative assistance in instrument selection/upgrade.
Attendance policy:
- Attendance at all scheduled lessons is expected. The student is responsible for being prepared each week and for having all lesson materials on hand.
- Inclement weather: Please call to discuss the status of your lesson. It is possible that conditions will improve and allow safe travel to your lesson. Make-up lessons or credit will be offered where weather prohibits safe travel to your lesson. Make-up lesson times are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Cancellations: Notice of cancellation is required at least 24 hours in advance. By arrangement, you may reschedule your lesson that week. One cancellation/rescheduled lesson is allowed per semester.
- No-shows: After completing 6 months of study, credit or rescheduling for lessons missed with less than 24 hours notice is available one time every six months. Although any advance notice is appreciated, calling or emailing within 24 hours of your class/lesson does not qualify for credit outside of these limits. After three no-shows in any semester, your time slot will be made available to others. 50% of your remaining credit will be refunded.
- Teacher cancellations although extremely rare, may be necessary. Please be sure that BRAM has current telephone numbers and email addresses to notify you. A make-up class/lesson will be scheduled or full credit will apply to your account. When you are notified of a teacher-cancelled lesson in advance of your payment, you may choose to schedule an alternate-date lesson or to deduct the appropriate amount from your next payment.
- BRAM observes the following holidays: New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur, Thanksgiving & “Black Friday”, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.
* Returned checks incur a $25 fee.
* Late Payments incur a $10 Late Payment fee.
* Visa, MC, Amex accepted at our website with 3% convenience fee added.
* The Blue Ridge Academy of Music reserves the right to discontinue a student when three consecutive weeks of inadequate preparation have resulted in a loss of progress. Students are invited to return as soon as they are able to re-establish their commitment to study.
